Message from the director to employers:
The Conference Board of Canada published a study showing the number one problem facing employers wishing to hire persons with disabilities is “locating and recruiting job candidates.” Because many employers cannot find a solution to this problem, persons with disabilities have long represented the largest untapped pool of human resources in Canada. As Canada’s labour market continues to shrink, the cost to employers for failing to tap into this vital resource will only increase.
AIM CROIT–IAM CARES can help you and your business tap into this resource pool.
Sponsored by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, AIM CROIT–IAM CARES has gained the trust and confidence of employers—both unionized and non-unionized—across Canada. Established in 1988, we have gained years of experience in matching the needs of employers to the skills of persons with disabilities. To date, we have found competitive employment in a range of fields for more than 3,728 (Janurary 31, 2008) persons with disabilities in Montreal alone.
Furthermore, we can work with job candidates and employers both before and after individuals start working. When necessary, we can provide expert advice on accommodations, accessibility and assistance devices that will serve to make the match between opportunities and skilled work for you and your employees. We have learned to listen to the needs of employers and find solutions to meet their needs.
We are very proud of AIM CROIT–IAM CARES’ accomplishments. We have helped hundreds of employers across Canada to make the link. We are confident we can help you make the link too. We look forward to building a partnership with your organization to help you tap into this crucial pool of talents and skills.
